WhatsApp Business taking the country by storm, adding big companies to its clientele

Interacting with customers is made comfortable and easier for companies via WhatsApp Business feature offered by the leading messaging application.

Largest messaging app in India, WhatsApp had launched its WhatsApp Business feature in the country in January this year. With more than 200 million of user base, the Facebook-owned application is specifically aimed at making communication between customers and small businesses easier. Large companies like Netflix and BookMyShow use the app for personalized interaction with its customers.

Reportedly, more than 3 million people are active on the business app globally. The app was designed for small businesses and is currently in testing stage for larger firms like airlines, banks or e-commerce companies. Specific numbers for India aren’t available as yet. Bengaluru based Unikorn Pet Services uses the WhatsApp Business in order to make swift response through customer interactions, and the instantly answer frequently asked questions. Similarly, an eyeglasses and sunglasses company Glassic, communicates with its customers through the app and sends images and videos of the products customers ask for. After making the selection, a payment link is sent to the customer via WhatsApp which takes them to the company website where they can place the final order.

Companies find e-mail and SMSs a lengthy way of communicating with their customers and while everyone has a smartphone and internet, WhatsApp is a more comfortable form of communicating also because majority of people are used to it. Large companies like MakeMyTrip and Goibibo have integrated WhatsApp Enterprise solutions in order to deliver e-tickets and hotel booking vouchers to their customers and allow them to select their seats on planes. The company has included booking and cancellations through the app and has found an easier way to get feedback. Ticket booking major BookMyShow has made WhatsApp its default ticket confirmation portal for customers.
