Pre-litigation Mediation Now Mandatory in Corporate Disputes

All corporate disputes to undergo mediation process prior to be heard by the courts. For all the cases in Haryana state, Gurugram court will help do the mediation under the jurisdiction of Narendra Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Nodal officer, District Legal Services Authority, Gurugram.

In a bid to reduce burden on the judiciary, the government has made pre-litigation mediation mandatory in all corporate disputes.

Talking to founderINDIA, Narendra Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gurugram stated that all the cases of commercial disputes arising in the state of Haryana will first have to undergo a pre-litigation mediation in Gurugram.

Narendra Singh, being the Nodal Officer, District Legal Services Authority, Gurugram will lead the mediation in all commercial disputes of the state. According to Singh, Gurugram court is all set to handle the litigations and he has already shortlisted a panel of expert lawyers duly trained in the process of mediation.

The process is expected to help reduce the burden on the judicial system by almost 33 per cent. And also facilitate speedy mechanism of justice that will add to the ease of doing business as being a major focus area of the current regime.
